My belief that pilates is the key to unlocking how you feel in your body is what has driven my passion for this journey in setting up Linsey Hodge Pilates.
Whether your goal is to keep your body and mind in balance, to rehabilitate posture or injury, or enhance your performance and build strength I am here to move you forward and empower your goals.
Pilates is the perfect balance of strength and wellness with a strong focus on movement from your core. Your core, or your ‘Pilates Centre’ is your powerhouse where all other body movement starts from.
The key elements of Pilates form the building blocks for optimal posture and efficient movement. With me you will learn the techniques of movement control and precision, body awareness, breathing control and use these to enhance your workout experience and incorporate them in everyday life.
Pilates exercises look to combine strength with mobility and enhance performance and endurance. The principle of pilates is to move with your body’s natural movement patterns and lighten the load on your spine and joints. This comes back to the core muscles. All core muscles are close to your spine and activation of them provides stability to your body. This increased core stability allows all activities from everyday bending and reaching to daily posture or sport easier to achieve with less strain on the body.
Within sport this core stability allows you to stride wider, reach further, exert more power, and balance longer. Any action with the arms and legs becomes more effective because your core base supports the body.
